Overview

Bhutan is not just a destination, it’s a different pace of life. This journey is designed to take you through the country in a smooth and well-paced way, without feeling rushed.

Starting from Bagdogra, the route gradually shifts from the plains into the mountains, easing you into Bhutan’s landscapes. Over the next few days, you travel across Thimphu, Punakha, Phobjikha, and Paro — covering a complete circuit of valleys, passes, monasteries, and cultural landmarks.

The experience balances travel and exploration. Key highlights include Dochula Pass, Punakha Dzong, and the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery, along with time to simply take in the surroundings.

All travel is managed in a comfortable vehicle, supported by a Trip Captain and a local guide.

This trip is ideal for those who want to experience Bhutan fully, without the need for biking, while still following the same route and overall journey.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival | Bagdogra to Phuentsholing (155 km)
Your journey begins as you arrive at Bagdogra Airport, where the team will receive you. From here, we drive toward Phuentsholing through the Dooars belt, slowly leaving the plains behind.

As you enter Bhutan, you’ll immediately notice the shift—cleaner roads, calmer surroundings, and a different pace of life. After completing permit formalities, check in and rest.
Tomorrow, the ride begins.
Overnight: Phuentsholing
Highlight: First entry into Bhutan
Note: Pickup at 12:00 PM from Bagdogra Airport

Day 2 : Ride Begins | Phuentsholing to Thimphu (145 km)
This is where it actually starts.
After breakfast, collect your bikes, meet your crew, and complete the permit process. Once done, you roll out for your first ride into the mountains.
The road builds up gradually—curves, forest patches, waterfalls cutting across the route. It’s a perfect warm-up day to get comfortable with the machine and the terrain.

Reach Thimphu by evening. You can step out, explore, or just take it easy.

Overnight: Thimphu

Highlight: First mountain ride, Chhukha stretch

Note: ₹5,000 refundable security deposit (cash)

Note: Permit process may take time—be prepared for a short wait

Day 3 : Thimphu to Phobjikha (130 km)
Start the morning with a ride up to Buddha Dordenma for a clear view of the valley. A quick stop at Simply Bhutan gives you a glimpse into the local way of life.

From here, head toward Dochula Pass—one of those places where you naturally slow down and take it in.

Post lunch, the ride changes character as you descend into Phobjikha Valley—wide, open, and silent.

Overnight: Phobjikha

Highlight: Dochula Pass, entry into Phobjikha

Day 4 : Phobjikha to Punakha (80 km)
The day starts slow with Gangtey Monastery overlooking the valley.

As you ride toward Punakha, you’ll feel the shift—less cold, more greenery, and smoother roads.

Visit Punakha Dzong and later walk across the suspension bridge, with the river flowing below and prayer flags all around.

Overnight: Punakha

Highlight: Punakha Dzong, suspension bridge walk

Day 5 : Punakha to Paro (128 km)
Begin with a visit to Chimi Lhakhang, known for its unique stories and local beliefs.

Ride toward Paro, crossing familiar routes but with a different perspective this time. Stop at Chuzom, where two rivers meet—one of the key points on this route.

By evening, reach Paro. It’s a good place to slow down, walk around, and soak in the vibe.

Overnight: Paro

Highlight: Chuzom, Paro town

Note: Temple artwork at Chimi Lhakhang may be sensitive for some

Day 6 : Tiger’s Nest Trek (7 km)
Today is about the climb.

The trail to Tiger’s Nest is steady and takes time, but it’s worth every step. As you get closer, the scale of the monastery really hits you.

Spend some time at the top, then descend at your own pace.

Evening is free—you can go for a hot stone bath or just rest.

Overnight: Paro

Highlight: Tiger’s Nest experience

Note: Moderate trek—carry water and essentials

Day 7 : Paro to Phuentsholing via Chele La Pass (145 km)
One last ride, and probably the most memorable one.

Head toward Chele La Pass—the highest point of the trip. Expect cold winds and wide-open views.

After spending some time there, begin your descent and continue the long ride back to Phuentsholing.

Submit your bikes and relax for the night.

Overnight: Phuentsholing

Highlight: Chele La Pass

Day 8 : Phuentsholing to Bagdogra (155 km)
After breakfast, drive back to Bagdogra.

The ride may be over, but the experience usually stays longer than expected.
